  1. 1. The action of forming, the way in which something takes shape; the process by which something comes into being that did not exist before

  2. 2. The act of giving a person, or a group, the knowledge required to practise an activity

  3. 3. The whole body of that knowledge

AsideI am self-taught: much of what I can do, I learned outside the classroom. It is what pushes me to widen my skills as far as I can, so that every decision is as sound and as effective as it can be. And the wider that base, the more a specialisation is worth: I choose it with the whole trade in mind, not one side of it.
